Robin William’s Daughter Named After Princess Zelda

A commercial released earlier this year for the  “The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D” features actor Robin Williams and his daughter, Zelda Williams sharing a interesting testimonial for the  Nintendo 3DS game.  The advertisement involves Robin getting his daughter, Zelda, mixed up with a character from the video game.  It is  revealed in the end that Zelda is named after Princess Zelda; the character in which Robin mistakes her for.

In an interview with the two, Robin Williams explains how his obsession with the first “The Legend of Zelda” lead him and his wife to name their daughter after the princess from popular game.  Zelda Williams then confesses that she shares her father’s enthusiasm for the video game series as well.  The interview ends with the duo laughing together as they play “The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D” for Nintendo 3DS.

It’s pretty cool how Robin William’s named his daughter after a well known character from a popular video game series.  Nintendo obviously had the right idea when they choose these two to help promote game, and it seems to have worked well.   So far, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D” has sold more than a million copies world wide.  I’m sure these two are enjoying the game just as I speak.
